My name is Andreas (Jon Ingmar) Fagerholm and I am a researcher in political science (comparative politics).

My current research is mainly focused on political parties (as actors in elections, legislatures and governments). I am also interested in political methodology (qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods) and in the history and philosophy of political science.

My hobbies include, in no particular order, travelling, groundhopping, hiking, nature & fishing, cooking & food, science, history, militaria, and railways & trainspotting (esp. tram and rapid transit systems).

I do not use social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.). If you want to contact me, send an e-mail.

I am also obsessed with making lists, so here is one of my three most recently read books:

Thrane, Christer:
Applied regression analysis: Doing, interpreting and reporting (Routledge, 2020)

— Statistics.

Lohi, Seppo:
Pohjolan kristillisyys: Lestadiolaisuuden leviäminen Suomessa 1870–1899 (SRK, 1997)

— Church history.

Holm, Johanna:
Authoritarian regionalism and democratic development in the post-Soviet region (The Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters, 2025)

— Dissertation.
